headspace Denmark is excited to be attending the 2025 International Association of Youth Mental Health (IAYMH) 2025 conference in Vancouver, Canada. The conference, with the theme, “Turning the Tide: Creating a global blueprint for prevention and integrated care in Youth Mental Health,” brings together young people and leaders in the youth mental health space to collaborate and catalyse global action.

A total of six abstracts are to be presented by headspace Denmark, showcasing the breadth of our work to support young people. First, we will present the initial results from the recent evaluation of headspace Denmark conducted by the Copenhagen Research Unit for Recovery, which is the first of its kind internationally. The evaluation shows that headspace increases young people’s wellbeing, and likely increases self-efficacy, and thus plays an important role in early health promotion and prevention for young people in Denmark.

We are also proud to share our pilot of headspace Family, which was developed in response to family members of young people often seeking help for themselves – in 2023 alone we received over 2,500 requests for support. headspace Family now delivers individual counselling, family counselling, group courses and psychoeducation to families in a three-year pilot.

Also on the agenda are the Nordic collaboration, which is a partnership between headspace Denmark, Mental Helse in Norway and Bergið in Iceland that aims to improve mental health for young people across the Nordic region; the When Something Makes You Happy board game that promotes reflective conversations about wellbeing; headspace’s health-promotion outreach activities and the mindU program which promotes wellbeing among young people preparing for confirmation.

The three-day conference is an exciting opportunity to engage with the global community, share learnings and champion the role of civil society in delivering integrated mental health solutions.
